Plant the Nephthytis in a pot filled with well-drained soil rich in organic material. Place plants with green leaves in medium or low light and plants with pink, burgundy or white leaves in bright, indirect light; direct sunlight will cause bleaching to the leaves.
Water the plant until the soil is damp. Wait until the top of the soil is dry before watering it again. The plant begins to droop when water is needed but will perk up when hydrated. Over-watering will lead to root rot, which can kill the Nephthytis.
